About PTCB
From the beginning, PTCB was codified by pharmacy organizations who sought a single standard for pharmacy technician credentialing. Our staff, board, and volunteers are actively involved in local and national pharmacy and certification organizations, and we are uniquely qualified to respond to pharmacy's evolving practice with credential programs that support technician careers, engage educators, assist employers and advance patient care. PTCB is committed to collaborating with pharmacy technician education/training programs seeking to position their students for rewarding pharmacy careers that advance medication safety and patient care.

Become a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program
PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Programs are a key component of earning PTCB credentials. These programs can be found in educational institutions and places of employment, and may include community colleges, private colleges, high schools, online platforms, community and hospital pharmacies, and other settings. All credential eligibility requirements start with education and/or work experience.

IMPORTANT NOTE: PTCB requires applicants for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential to complete a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program OR equivalent work experience.
