The PhysTEC project recently announced it would fund California State University, Long Beach; Chicago State University; Middle Tennessee State University; Towson University; and the University of California, Davis to develop their physics teacher education programs into national models.

The PhysTEC project has produced a video to excite and inspire physics majors to pursue careers in teaching. The video is freely available, and can be screened in university classrooms, physics department open houses, or any other place physics majors meet.

Funding for the NSF's Noyce Scholarship program, which supports future math and science teachers, has increased dramatically as a result of the federal government's commitment to STEM education. The application deadline for the next round of Noyce funding is March 10, 2010.

PTEC Membership Growth

PTEC membership has grown to over 175 members since the Coalition was founded in 2003. PTEC members include major research institutions, regional universities, liberal arts colleges, and national labs. The Coalition includes members from outside the US.
