2008 PTEC Conference Logistics

Dates and Location

The 2008 PTEC conference will run all day on Friday, February 29th and Saturday, March 1st. In addition, there will be a pre-conference workshop on Thursday, February 28th, and a post-conference workshop on Sunday, March 2nd. All conference events will be held at the Omni Austin Hotel at Southpark with the exception of the pre-conference workshop which will be held at the University of Texas at Austin.

When you call to make your reservation, be sure to ask for rooms held in the "PTEC/APS" block. The final date to get the group rate of $159/night is Thursday, February 7th, so please make your reservations soon.

Internet

The Omni provides complimentary high-speed Internet service in the lobby and public areas. In addition, you can get free Internet in your guest room by joining the Select Guest program. It is free to join. If you choose not to join, Internet service in your room will be $9.95/night.

Meals

Your conference registration includes lunch as well as morning and afternoon break food on Friday and Saturday. In addition, there will be a reception with hors d'oeuvres and a poster show on Friday evening. Breakfast and dinner are on your own on all days.

We will also provide lunch on Thursday and on Sunday for participants in workshops on those days.

Transportation

The closest airport is the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The Omni provides complimentary transportation to and from the airport for all guests, once an hour on the hour, by request only. You will need to use the Omni courtesy phone in the baggage claim area to notify the hotel of your arrival.
